The Manor of Illusions

 Cait Sith Rage of Bahamut

The Manor of Illusions just thrust upon us immediately after another CW event finished. Beginning October 31st The Manor of Illusions event will last over two weeks and leave people who just pushed out huge amounts of CW pulling their hair out.

The Manor of Illusions, appears to be based off the Tears of the Moon/Easter Event blueprint. This blueprint revolves around two facets of gameplay. Facet one is acquiring treasure through questing, these treasures are combined to give the player a rare card. Each realm is able to acquire two colors of treasure and must battle other players of opposing realms to gather the treasures they are missing to complete the set.

Aspect two is pumping cure water into questing to move through the manor. Players with accounts holding very high stamina tend to excel at events like this. As players progress though the quests they will randomly attain Pumpkin Cookies that give additional point boosts.

Well, chances are you already know all this and are more curious about the twist on the event because your read the same line I did.

"The Manor of Illusions has many paths to choose! Cooperate with your order to find the right one!"

After much searching only to find nothing I'm left with speculation. I'm left to thought about what they could implement and how they could, I came to a couple conclusions.

Option A) Choose a path and progress down it. Essentially operating under a system where there are several 'wings' of the Manor and some end goal of each wing to gather. Personally I think this would be really pointless, but hell, I thought the fairy in the last event kind of was too.

Option B) Stick with me here, this is a long one. The pumpkin cookies that people accumulate during the event are going to be responsible for giving points for order ranking. Its possible they set up a system where gaining a certain number of points in a specific tower gives a certain number of bonus cookies at specific tiers for the order. This would encourage people to push certain 'wings' as a tier.

Option C) It's meaningless and will operate the same as Easter/Tears. The only difference being that players accumulate pumpkin cookies as they go to increase ranking.

**EDIT: Apparently it's just before you fight a boss you need to guess the right option in picture game. The wrong options are marked by order members who chose wrong. If you guess wrong you need to do the previous quest over again before fighting the boss, thus costing you stamina**

By the way, since there won't be a card released that helps during this event I'm going to make a little prediction.

I PREDICT that before the end of this event there will be an item sold in store that gives people an additional % chance for pumpkin cookies.

Anyway, good luck. And advice for the future. Build a stam heavy alt account, because they are really pushing these events.

  1. I hate these events with a passion. The only way to rank high in these events is to pump ungodly amounts of CW into the event and pray the rewards are worth it. Im going to sit this on out and wait for the next HW

    1. I'm with you. I only participate to the minimum in CW events. Once I make a stam account I might find them more thrilling.

    2. I just made a alt account for the same reason. Even with that its not as fun as actually battling ppl and working with your order. I think they have more cw events so ppl will buy more cw since there worth less in the game.

  2. Any prediction on price of the event sr and ssr?

    1. Muse is very similar to Medusa but slightly better. I suppose it will go for a similar price, maybe higher because a lot of defense leaders are man realm and have looked to a place to go other than KA/Lance.

Cait Sith is tough. About 20k attack with a great boost to attack all. God realm has been lacking a card like this, closest contender being Sword Valk. I would probably place him going for 250HP each the first day and quickly dropping down to a reasonable 150.

I've been shocked though by how much people are willing to pay for certain cards. Both cards will maintain decent value though because stats and buffs are solid.

    2. I know there is no way of knowing and I wont hold you to it (hahaha) but do you really think the Cait Sith will go for 250HP to start?

I have a feeder account with 500 stamina and I am at a crossroad. Currently I rank 3900 overall (17k pumpkins, the individuals under 2k are at 32k in pumpkins) , I still have around 60 CW's left so I am sure I could get under 3k to get on Sith and maybe even get under 2k so I can get two.

I guess my question is, what do you think would be more profitable, get my one account in position to get 1 or maybe 2 Cait Sith's or have both accounts between 5-9k and get a total of 4 HR and up packs and 6 legandary packs?

Thanks again for all your help

    3. Cait is just slightly higher than Sephirot in power so think about 20-30HP overtop it for selling price after the event.

Personally I'm a big fan of luck. I think Muse will net 30-50HP more than Medusa. 4HR packs and 6LCP I place at about a 65HP value unless you get lucky on a pull.

I think you're past a point of no return, you've spent so much CW getting to Cait Sith that if you don't maintain rank to attain it you will end up losing CW vs breaking even or experiencing a gain.

    4. OK, I guess I am going to make a run for it then, thanks for the help, I will let you know how it turns out.

    1. Personally I consider anything over 180 high. But for events I know the top people have about 600.

  4. Thanks for your thoughts. I just have a question about about the rewards of events. In the last hw there are just about 30 ssr cards ( Satan I think) but in the quest events there are about 1100 ssr cards. It would be okay if the ssr cards are crap, but they are not. Wind god is a perfect wing card, enquid has super stats and a skill like Satan. I don't get it. Is there a plan? Or are they change the hole reward system and starts with the quest events? Another question: what is the best time to sell cards too get more HP and when it is the best time to buy them?

    1. Which cards are a little more of a matter of luck for the systems.

I tend to find selling cards is best when no event is going on and there is a lag between a future one. Since that rarely happens I find that about two weeks after holy war things start to equal out.

As for buying cards, immediately after an event ends always appears to be the best for me. People flood the market and go ape undercutting each other.

  5. Perhaps the idea is so that we will align with Japanese RoB where CW is worth as much as a HP or so I heard?

  6. hey lucarda, how many cw do you think will need to get Muse? I'm debating if I should start pumping... and once i start i cant really stop.

    1. No clue. I would say you probably won't make it for a reasonable amount unless you have 500-600 stamina though.

  7. Hi Lucarda any idea of the value of Saccharine Witch? She seems similar to Inugami with slightly better stats but lousier skill....not sure if this event will be worth it...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not worth it. I believe she will be going for less than Inugami. If her stats are an indicator of what her finals will be I'll put her around 15.4 attack and defense.

The one thing I will note. With how few options there are for inexpensive demon realm cards in that stat range for cheap, she MAY be worth purchasing after the event is over if she drops to 10HP each.

  8. How much do you think Cait Sith will be worth? And also, what would be the best rank tlfor rewards, other than 1-20.

    1. As far as I can tell there's no real reason to participate in this event unless you have an account with 400-600stam.

    2. Good opportunity to horde some treasures to get battle points tho.

  9. Hey, as far as strategy goes, doesn't it make more sense to intentionally take the wrong path? Since you can't redo past quests and all...

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hm. In theory this could be legitimate. I guess it depends on if they amount of cookies is increased at higher levels. In theory though perpetually choosing the wrong path could leave you in the 1 stam quests.

      Delete
    2. Well, there are only three choices at the lower levels. And once you choose one, you can no longer choose that path. But it still is a good strategy because in the lower areas the stamina is cheaper.

  10. is it confirmed that none of bosses in this event drop even a single cw or hp? and only drop rupies and more rupies???

    1. I'm at Quest 90 and it's been just rupies and friendship points so far.

    2. This event is even more lackluster than usual. The reward cards I don't even consider to be worth it. The only nice aspect is the number of HR packs given.

      Delete
  11. I think the rewards are chosen very sensibly this time. many many lower rankers get 6-10 hp times 80.000 is 600.000 hp into the game for lower rankers only. Some will have a HR claim ticket on top. These people will start buying cards again. I think a combination of hp during and after the event might put a stop at the continueing drop in card prices. Allthough with cards being bought via card packs and nowhere to put them there is virtually no stop on card prices.

    1. Well that's the problem I'm facing right now going from Rares to HRs, your rares are pretty much worthless if they are anything but a 4 card Evo. Not sure if its always been this way but its frustrating trying to build enough HP to at least get some decent cards when the previous investment doesn't pay off.

  12. So how do i ever get good cards? Ive bought over $100 in card packs and got nothing worth more than 10 hp...what am i doing wrong? I want to be able to have sr or ssr cards worth 200 hp like everyone else any advice? Majorcrisis911

    1. Money is a nice head start in the game but generally HP is generated more quickly through trading.

Before Bazaar it was a lot easier to accumulate HP because you could make sales and purchases quickly and unlimited. So I could start by buying a card for 10HP, selling it for 12HP, buying new card for 12HP selling for 15HP, etc. I could do this 10 times in a day earning 30HP. The next day I could buy 3 cards for 10HP each, and earn even quicker.

Now with the limited number of trades I needed to find alternative ways. An example is when Neko was released I bought 4 of her for 20HP each (requires 2 accounts). I evo'd it into a 4max and sold it the next day for 180HP. I sold another for 155HP.

My advice would be that the biggest mistake people make is when they get to 40HP they buy a 40HP card to make their deck stronger. Instead they should use the 40HP to buy and sell intelligently to turn it into 60HP.

  14. Hey Lucarda, have you seen any event card that could be used in your best H/HR decks setups?

    1. Generally event cards don't make it. The event cards that are generally worth it tend to be the SR/SSR ones which I don't like to use in my set ups because of the limited quantity.

  15. Hey Lucarda
    Nice Blog by the way.

Do you really think Sith will make it to even 100HP? I don't think it will be much more than Trow + 10HP.
The fall of the prices is really strange. It is even hard to buy 4 Cards, make 4-7 and sell for a good price because prices are falling so fast.

What would you think is a good start for S-Rare Cards? ATM i have 2 Nightmare, Ark, Wichcomm., and Trow.
I think Jormungand would be a decision .. what do you think?

    1. The thing about Sith is gods have really crappy card options atm. I merely think that Sith will go for slightly more than Sephirot because it's slightly more powerful.

Yes, prices are dropping at absurd rates, causing people to panic and undercut each other heavily, making people wait to purchase, causing people to cut their prices further reinforcing the idea to buyers that if they wait they'll get a better deal.

The bazaar actually caused this cycle. Before the tickets were in place limiting purchase/sales, big players would have bought lots of cards and list them at higher prices, preventing the absurd price drops. The limited number of purchases prevents people from doing this which means that there is only a price reduction, causing a perpetual sinkhole.

For example, when Berserker used to drop to 11-12HP, people bought it and listed it at 15-18HP.

Not possible anymore so prices can only spiral downward, never upward.

      Delete
    2. The price drop obviously has to end at some point. Don't you think the whole ROB economy will level out at some point and reach a new "norm".

Eventually people are going to say "there is no freakin way I'm selling my Ifrit for 10 HP."

I think also the fact that there haven't been any HP pumped into the economy have had a factor. This quest event should pump tons back in with the high HP rewards, also the legend claim tickets that can now be redeemed for a card, an HP and a bazaar ticket.

      Delete
    3. The RoB economy would level out if it weren't for tickets.

As a person reaches a certain deck power, they are no longer a buyer on the market, purely seller since they don't need any cards lower than their deck power.

The higher level players need a reason to buy cards, and without the ability to buy and relist, they have none. Hence the number of sellers on the market will constantly increase and the number of buyers will constantly decrease.

This creates a lopsided economy that's perpetually getting worse. If the tickets weren't there, free business could exist to buy and resell as a form of self regulation on the prices.

  16. for a feeder,

do you need to evo a High Normal w/ skill, before selling or using it yourself?

    1. I don't understand what you're asking.

I think you may be asking if you need to evolve it before using, and the answer is no. You can use any card under any evolution as a feeder.

  17. After reading everything said so far I pretty much think my investment of 200cw for the 2 caits doesnt seem that worth it. Im thinking if I should blow another 200-300cw for the muses. Itll be easier now since they added that jump ahead option now. What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Dunno. CW has a value of 1/2 of an HP. SO 100HP for 2 Caits plus the cards/feeders/levels you've gained during the event isn't too bad.

Jump ahead allows people to push the event fast and strong. I can expect some people gaining ranks fast.

      Delete
  18. I think thus jump ahead option might cause you to have a hard time going for the muse. Since its much less time consuming progress now, people that had given up using much CW might come back and pump alot more, making the number of cookies increase alot in the top ranks.

    1. Yea after seekng how fast ranking is dropping after one night I think ill hold on to the cw instead :/

  19. I stopped playing this game back in July and the economy is wack. Anyways I have a bunch of rares I'm slowly turning into 4-7, I'll have 4 of them and after this event I should have 20+ HW. I was thinking of getting some minotaurs and making another 4-7 with them but recently got a saccharine witch. What do you suggest as a next move? Aim for []saccharine, []minotaur or something else? And how can I get rid of all these rare cards I got laying around, no one seems to be buying.

    1. I'm having the same issue with my rares atm. I tend to accumulate way too many of them.

Can't really say what to do with your deck atm. Sach witch is cheap but has really low stats. She's just a bit better than rares. I would probably go after the mino if I didn't have enough HP to snag up Nightmares.

      Delete
  20. Ya.. I'm going to go for the mino for now. I can get 4 of them for the price of one nightmare and the skills are essentially the same. Thanks.

  21. saw the saccharine with skill boost on wiki to be 8%.
How accurate is this information? Since it big boost to ALL atk/def.
Wouldn't that makes it similar to Inugami's Big Boost to DEMON atk/def?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It is similar to Inugamis. There appears to be a base % that a buff/debuff can't drop below if it's a certain type. I.e. A big cannot be lower than 8%. A Great cannot be lower than 10%. A massive cannot be lower than 15%.

At least from what I've seen.
