Holy Wars

Holy Wars are the most important event in Rage of Bahamut. Holy Wars entail attacking random enemy orders to establish an overall ranking. You also establish an overall ranking for individual players.

Ranking higher in Holy Wars gives access to the highest SR, and SSR cards. The highest rankings receive the best rewards while the rewards get less and less valuable as you move down in ranking. Because of the importance of rankings everybody needs to know how to contribute during Holy Wars. There are two rankings, Individual and Order.

Individual ranking
Individual ranking is purely based on the amount of points you gather. You'll find that more powerful opponents give more points. Attack, Defense, and Order leaders have multipliers to the points they give, so these guys are worth the most. If you attack an Order leader who would normally give you 100pts, he will give you 150 (If you win), if you attack a Defense/Attack leader that would give a 100pts he will give you 120pts (If you win). The higher points you have, the higher your ranking goes. It's a simple system. If an Order your up against has a "wall" you gain 1/2 as many points as usual.

Order ranking
Order ranking is based off of points as well but there are some differences. The highest number of points gained are won through defeating the opponent by a large margin. You won't be able to achieve a high rank for your order solo and it requires team work since the points are calculated off your total orders points vs their total orders points, and only to the victor go the spoils. Points are still calculated the same way as they are with individual rankings, a victory against an Attack leader with 100pts will give you 120pts. Now, if you continually attack the same opponent they become worth less and less. This encourages you to attack different opponents. If there is a "wall" you gain 1/2 as many points as usual.

As you can see, being able to accumulate points through attack is very important. You should also notice since you can't score a lot of points unless your order does things like take down a wall, that ensuring your Orders victory in ratings also ensures your personal victory in ratings. Also, since the rewards stack, you can double your rewards by maintaining high rankings in both.

Walls
Walls are build before Holy Wars start and have 50k health during a battle. On top of this cards do significantly reduced damage to them. There are three cards that have a special effect of boost to wall damange. Gods have Ares, Man has Master Gunner, and Demons have Mithril Golem. These cards give the boost to wall damage helping you take down a wall in fewer attacks. Once a wall is down, you will gain full points off of victories against the enemy instead of partial points.

Attack Leaders
Attack leaders are the limbs of the order. They are responsible for taking down enemy defense leaders, walls, and accumulating points. It is reasonably everybody's job to accumulate points, but the brunt of the work is put on attack leaders. Attack leaders should not only have powerful attack decks, but also have the ability to attack several times during each battle. If an attack lead only has 120 attack points he can only attack once. This hurts his point accumulation. He needs to have a strong attack deck as well as a high amount of attack power to accomplish multiple assaults.

Defense Leaders
Defense leaders are the backbone of high ranking orders. If players in the Order are under a Defense leader, none of them can be attacked until the Defense leader is beaten. If your Defense leader is very powerful he can prevent the enemy from gathering any points since they can't defeat him to open up the rest of the group to assault. When a Defense leader is attacked by somebody with 50+ attack power he loses 10 defense points. If a Defense leaders deck drops below the minimum amount to use it, a card will be substituted to one that can be used. Because of this, many Defense leaders have a couple hundred defense points, that way they take forever to defeat.

Achieving High Rankings

Achieving high rankings can only be done individually by using very large amounts of holy powder. Achieving victory as an Order is much easier. Splitting the workload with your order always helps.

Silver Coins

Based on the previous battle with another order you will be given silver coins and the ability to gift silver coins to other. You can only gift silver coins once per day so I always end up gifting at least one to each person in my order. You can use three silver coins to buy a silver card pack. The silver coin pack will have slightly better cards than normals, otherwise will not have any great cards.

Tips/Tricks
If you want to win follow these rules:
1) Don't have inactive/really weak players in your order. A weak player can be targeted continually.
2) Defense leaders prevent everybody from being attacked, having a powerful one prevents an enemy from acting against you.
3) Wall take down cards are important for accumulating large amounts of points since once a wall is down we will get full points upon defeating our enemies instead of smaller portions.
4) Cards that have a skill to give additional points upon victory is also important in Rage of Bahamut.
5) Remember the role your assigned to. If you are defense leader attack, but make sure to keep a powerful defense deck

  1. How do they determain which order you will battle when you declare? I know its random but our order has never really battled a order that was just beginning or one that was unstoppable. Is it based on order lvl?

    1. It's based on accumulated Holy War points/ranking. So you are put up against Orders with similar Holy War points.

  2. Just wondering if you can tell me how many attack and defense leaders an order can have? Does it depend on size? Also, if we appoint 2 defense leaders prior to a Holy War, does the opposing order need to defeat both def leaders to be able to attack all of our members?

    1. Hm. Not sure if there's a cap.

You don't really want more than one defense leader since if either of the two is defeated you lose the defense leader protection and most guilds will focus one of them anyway.

  3. Im leader of Warriors of the night, we are only a lvl 40 order i have 300 walls, and all bonuses. I am the highest lvl player of the order im lvl85 i have two defence leaders who now i realize they will suck for the first holy war they will have. I have 32 members and two of them have mithril golem and principality to help with holy wars, my base stats are 70/65. what is your opinion on the amount of walls i have and do you have any other insight to which might be helpful to me? Thx

    1. Walls seem fine. I never really worry about them. I would suggest when recruiting to make sure people can attack 3 times per HP. People who can attack multiple times generally use more HP as well because they see more value in it.

Also, after HW you should ask people to give you their individual rank and points earned just to ensure that they are contributing. People work harder when they're being watched, although some will find this offensive and leave as a result.

    1. Secktor. Wall Breakers are only good if you can stack 2 or 3 in my opinion.

Beware though, don't run out of HP before the HW because you wanted to buy a shiny.

    2. yeah, i'd be down to like 50hp if i buy an s10 card.

wont sektor reduce my attack significantly? should i place it at 1st?

im confused now because my guildies said master gunner since sektor can reduce attack. not so sure now...

      Delete
    3. Not significantly. Only be about 3k. You'd run Sek, Clay, Clay, Clay, Yuki.

If your order doesn't have a wall breaker person/persons then yes, it would make sense to go M.Gun. If your order currently has no wall issues, Sektor will bring more points and they add up significantly.

You would lose attack damage, but you gain more points. You only need to beat your enemy by 1pt to win so if you're crushing your opponents, you have room for the point card.

  5. ok, btw out of topic:

what upgrade should i do next for my atk deck?

i was thinking 5 achilles (building from scratch)

or replacing the 2 wings with date? then just wait for the man realm hecate (at least 1)

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think you'd experience a bigger boost by saving for Batraz.

    ReplyDelete
  7. so theres nothing in between a claymore and batraz in terms of upgrading?

coz a single ff batraz costs more than 20 base achilles lol..

im afraid that the time it takes for me to save for a batraz would make me quit the game, not that its a bad thing lol

    1. Achilles is solid, but if you use it, put it in 2nd/3rd place. Still use a claymore in top spot. The debuff is only 10%. The wikipedia just added a function to show skill % on cards but they are computing incorrectly at the moment.

I could recommend Monster summoner Mimi though. Although she's only 19k attack she offers 22k defense all with a 15% boost. I just don't like Achilles and I see his resale value dropping into the gutter when the Man version of Hecate releases.

*btw, on the subject of man version of Hecate, it's Lioness Tamer which is a reward from an event I don't think we're going to have since they released limited edition card pack for the cards from the event. It was the one with monster summoner mimi in it.

  8. i know! prices have been plummeting since azi and haniels release..

    again, 1 base mimi(230hp) is almost 3x base achilles(80hp).
so an FF mimi=3 FF achilles + 40hp

but if you would also consider its def use:
    achilles(80)+lance(110)= 190hp vs 230hp mimi
    320+440=760 vs 920=230x4. 160hp difference

but i do agree mimi is a great card. but why do dual use cards tend to be overpriced? jorm, fp..does skilling just one card justify that?

was haniel also released in packs in the japanese RoB or events?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not sure on Haniel.

Didn't actually realize Achilles was that low in price. He was at 150 the last time I saw him.

Even with those differences remember that Mimi is 22k defense instead of 20k and the attack buff is 5% stronger than achilles.

  9. Hi Lucarda, its just one thing coz the next holy war is coming on if i had about 75k atk and def what order rank could i get into? i could spend about 20 hps

    1. 20HP means maybe a top 8000. I know I would prefer 60k attack and 100HP to spend.

  10. sorry i have one more question. well seems that i'm one of the wallbreakers for hw but since i'm only lv 59 and with 129 atk pts would breaking walls diminish my hw pts and lower my individual rank? u know, i couldn't atk ppl if i broke the wall coz i dun want to spend too much hp on 1hp per atk. i hv one ff wallbreaker and a 75k atk deck. i know i'm being selfish but just asking if atking ppl would be better.

    1. If your a designated wall breaker for HW you're in a tough spot. Your order is counting on you to break the wall. I would say you have a couple of options.

      1) Just break the wall, you'll still get points and your order will see you as a team player.

      2) Option two, don't break the walls, only attack players. Your order may view you as not a team player and only in it for yourself. Or they may not notice that you didn't participate.

      3) Let your order know you're not comfortable with the wall breaker position and offer to loan out your wall breaker cards to someone with more attack power in the order. If you don't trust your order with your cards, take collateral.

  11. hello,i have a question. I was reading the rules on differnces from the last holy wars and one of the new rules says order buildings have a building lvl,is there a way i can level my buildings up? if so how? thanks

    1. Hm. I missed that. I assume it will be based on order level. For example if you have a level 40 order the castle will be level 40. It doesn't appear to have anything to do with walls, just the castle. It will be curious to see if higher level orders are worth more points.

    2. You know what. I bet they are. It's probably in there to help AD Hoc orders earn points.

  12. Hi. just reading ur blog and learnuig a lot. does this mean is someone attacks with a power below 50 no points will be taken. also if someone atks with a high amount but loses will the defence leader still only lose ten points

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This was a really old post Gertrad, there have been updates since. It's 90% right but defense leaders actually lose a % of their points. So if they have 300 points they actually lose about 30pts.

If it's below 50pts the defense leader will lose no points. The reason for this is players were using duped accounts to spam attack leaders with one goblin until his defense was low enough to break him. Rage didn't like that.

If it's a mammoth attack deck or 50pt the defense leader loses I THINK 10% of his current points. So first hit he would lose 30, next hit 27, etc. I could be wrong but I appear to lose 10% of my points.

Hope that answers. There are other holy war posts as well that talk about various tactics if you're new and trying to do well.

  14. One question ...with a base attack of 77k and 107k with boost how many attacks will it take to bring down a wall during holly war ...i can attack 3 times in 1 hp

    ReplyDelete

    1. I think that base does 4k per attack if I'm not mistaken, so 13 attacks.

  17. Is there any benefit, or even a possibility, of taking down castle???

    ReplyDelete

    1. Castle doesn't go down. It's there as a point dumb. When you only had 20 attack power left you can get a couple points from attacking it.

    2. Oh ok...thought i saw a message the other day about it saying something like "on the brink of collapse" or something...

      Thanks!

    3. If castles could go down to offer something like a 4x bonus, that would be pretty awesome.

  18. So I'm not a heavy hitter and I didn't have the chance to accumulate any wall breaker cards before this holy war. This is only my second holy war so i'm still a bit confused about this. I keep seeing people in my order saying things like 'their leader only has 2 cards left'. Should I be attacking def. leaders and such even though I can't defeat them? Does it damage them in some way? Or should, I stick with attacking the wall/ lower level order members like me?
